SSU offers a preliminary university program every January only for the first 200 students who are accepted into SSU. This year, the same program was set up for the freshmen as usual. The program enables students to receive their grades by completing special subjects and to experience their college lives through a mentoring program before entering the university.
Special subjects are composed of “Debate on Reading and Communication” and “College English Communication.” “Debate on Reading and Communication” helps the students develop their abilities to make logical arguments by understanding the discussion, exploring its forms and methods, and applying them to an actual discussion. “College English Communication” improves the proficiency of the students through conversation, discussion, and reading English books with native speaking professors. The mentoring program is conducted by SSU professors and undergraduate students. It helps the freshmen adapt to college life, and provides them with career guidance and counseling opportunities.
